Noida to Delhi Airport by Metro (2026): Routes to T1, T2 and T3, Time, Fare and Timings

Going from Noida to Delhi airport by metro is straightforward once you know your terminal. For Terminal 1, take the Magenta Line from Botanical Garden straight to Terminal 1-IGI Airport station with no change of train. For Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, ride the Blue Line to Rajiv Chowk, change to the Yellow Line for one stop to New Delhi, then take the Airport Express Line to IGI Airport station. This guide explains every route, the time and fare to expect, and the mistakes that make people miss flights.

Timings and fares are as of September 2026 and can change; check the DMRC website or app before an early or late flight.

First, confirm your terminal

IGI Airport has three passenger terminals. Terminal 1 is in the Palam area on the southern side, and it is mainly used for domestic flights by low-cost airlines. Terminals 2 and 3 are next to each other on the other side of the runways and handle all international flights and a large share of domestic ones. Airlines do move flights between terminals, so read the terminal printed on your boarding pass or booking email the evening before you travel.

Also make sure you are going to the right airport. Noida International Airport at Jewar is a separate airport on the Yamuna Expressway. If your ticket says DXN or Jewar, read our Noida International Airport guide instead.

Route 1: Noida to Terminal 1 by the Magenta Line

This is the easiest metro trip from Noida to any Delhi airport terminal. The Magenta Line starts at Botanical Garden near Noida Sector 38, which is also a Blue Line station, and runs through south Delhi to Terminal 1-IGI Airport station. You do not change trains.

1. Reach Botanical Garden metro station. From most Blue Line stations in Noida (Sector 15, 16, 18, Golf Course, City Centre and beyond) it is only a few stops away. If you are coming from the Aqua Line, change at Sector 51 to Sector 52 on the Blue Line using the skywalk, then ride towards Dwarka to Botanical Garden.
2. At Botanical Garden, follow signs for the Magenta Line towards Janakpuri West.
3. Ride through Kalindi Kunj, Kalkaji Mandir, Hauz Khas, IIT and Vasant Vihar to Terminal 1-IGI Airport.
4. From the station, a roughly 370-metre underground walkway with travelators leads to the Terminal 1 building.

The ride from Botanical Garden takes around 50 minutes to an hour depending on waiting time. Under the fare table revised in August 2025, a trip of this length usually falls in the ₹43–₹54 weekday range; the exact fare depends on distance, and Sunday and holiday fares are lower. The DMRC app shows the precise amount when you buy a QR ticket.

Route 2: Noida to Terminal 3 (and T2) via New Delhi

For international flights and domestic flights from Terminals 2 and 3, the fastest metro option combines the Blue Line with the dedicated Airport Express Line (also called the Orange Line). Airport Express trains are faster, have space for luggage and make only a few stops.

1. Board the Blue Line in Noida towards Dwarka Sector 21.
2. Get off at Rajiv Chowk and change to the Yellow Line towards Samaypur Badli.
3. Get off after one stop at New Delhi and follow signs for the Airport Express. It is a separate concourse, so allow about 10 minutes for the walk and security.
4. Take the Airport Express to IGI Airport station, which serves Terminal 3. Terminal 2 is next to Terminal 3 and is reached on foot.

From Noida Sector 18, the Blue Line leg to Rajiv Chowk takes roughly 30–35 minutes. The Airport Express covers New Delhi to IGI Airport in about 15–20 minutes. With changes and waiting, plan for about 1 hour 15 minutes door-to-platform from central Noida, and more from Noida Electronic City. You pay the regular metro fare to New Delhi plus the Airport Express fare, which for New Delhi–IGI Airport was ₹60 before the August 2025 revision that added up to ₹5 on this line.

Route 3: Stay on the Blue Line to Dwarka Sector 21

The Blue Line that runs through Noida ends at Dwarka Sector 21, which is also an Airport Express station. You can ride all the way there without changing, then take the Airport Express one stop back to IGI Airport (T3). This route involves fewer changes and is handy if you have heavy bags, but it is long: expect well over 1.5 hours from central Noida because the Blue Line stops at about 40 stations on the way. It suits people who can get a seat at the starting point, such as Noida Electronic City or Noida City Centre.

Route 4: Pink Line to Dhaula Kuan

Another option is to take the Blue Line to Mayur Vihar-I, change to the Pink Line and travel to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus, then use the skywalk to Dhaula Kuan on the Airport Express. It avoids crowded Rajiv Chowk, but the skywalk transfer is long, and total journey time is similar to Route 2. Consider it if Rajiv Chowk is very crowded during office peaks.

Timings: will the metro get you there in time?

Most Delhi Metro lines run from about 6 AM to about 11 PM, but the first and last train differ by station and direction, and some lines start later on Sundays. The Airport Express runs earlier than the rest of the network: first trains leave around 4:40 AM from Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 and around 5 AM from New Delhi, and the last trains leave around 11:15–11:40 PM.

The weak link for early flights is usually the Blue or Magenta Line leg from Noida, not the Airport Express. If your flight leaves before about 8 AM, the metro alone may not get you to the airport early enough for check-in and security, especially for international flights. For very early departures, a cab is more reliable. Always check the exact first train from your own station on the DMRC journey planner.

Fares and tickets

Delhi Metro revised fares on 25 August 2025, the first increase since 2017. The new regular slabs are:

The Airport Express has its own fare scale, from ₹11 up to ₹75 for the full line to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 (as of September 2026). You can pay with a Delhi Metro smart card, a QR ticket from the DMRC app, or a token bought at the station. Tips and mistakes to avoid

• Do not go to T1 for an international flight. International flights from Delhi operate from T3, not T1. Check your terminal the night before.
• Allow for the New Delhi transfer. The walk from the Yellow Line to the Airport Express platform at New Delhi, plus a separate security check, can take 10–15 minutes with bags.
• Avoid peak hours with large bags. The Blue Line through Noida and central Delhi is packed from about 8:30 to 10:30 AM and 5:30 to 8 PM on weekdays. Board at the first station if you can.
• Keep enough balance on your card. Two legs plus the Airport Express can use more than you expect; recharge before you leave.
• Check luggage rules. Delhi Metro allows reasonable personal baggage, but very large or heavy items may be refused at security. Pack accordingly or use a cab.
• Coming back from the airport late? Check the last train on every leg of your journey, not just the Airport Express. A late flight can leave you at New Delhi after the last Blue Line train towards Noida.
• Use the inter-terminal shuttle only when needed. If you land at T1 but depart from T3 (or the reverse), use the airport’s official transfer options and allow extra time.

Coming from Greater Noida or the Aqua Line

If you live along the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway or in Greater Noida, start on the Aqua Line and change at Noida Sector 51 to Noida Sector 52 on the Blue Line. Since August 2026, a covered skywalk connects the two stations and the transfer takes about five minutes. From Sector 52, ride towards Dwarka: get off at Botanical Garden for T1, or continue to Rajiv Chowk for the New Delhi route to T3. From Greater Noida, allow at least 2 hours to reach Terminal 3 by metro.

What is coming next

Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 includes the Golden Line from Tughlakabad to Aerocity, which will meet the Airport Express at Delhi Aerocity. The Union Cabinet also approved an Aqua Line extension from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden in February 2026, expected to take around four years. Once these open, some Noida residents may have faster links to the airport. Check the official DMRC website for opening dates.

For most people in Noida, the choice is simple: Magenta Line from Botanical Garden for Terminal 1, and Blue Line plus Airport Express via New Delhi for Terminals 2 and 3. Check your terminal, check the first and last trains, keep some buffer for transfers, and the metro is one of the most predictable ways to beat Delhi’s airport traffic.
