Pari Chowk is the giant roundabout that marks the entrance to Greater Noida: it is where the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway ends and the Yamuna Expressway towards Jewar, Mathura and Agra begins. The junction takes its name from the golden pari (fairy) sculptures at its centre, and it is served by the Jaypee Greens Pari Chowk station on the Noida Metro Aqua Line. Where exactly is Pari Chowk?

Pari Chowk sits at the point where the 24.5 km, six-lane Noida–Greater Noida Expressway (which begins at the Mahamaya flyover in Noida) reaches Greater Noida. From here the roads fan out in several directions: south-east onto the Yamuna Expressway, north-east towards Surajpur and Greater Noida West, east towards Kasna and the industrial sites, and into the Knowledge Park and Alpha/Beta residential sectors.

Because almost all traffic between Noida and Greater Noida, and much of the traffic heading to Jewar, Mathura and Agra, passes through this junction, locals use “Pari Chowk” as a shorthand for the whole surrounding area. Property listings often say “near Pari Chowk”, and many buses and shared autos simply show “Pari Chowk” as their destination.

Why is it called Pari Chowk?

The name comes from the golden statues of fairies (pari in Hindi) that decorate the central island of the roundabout. They are the most photographed feature of the junction and give it a very distinctive look at night when the area is lit up. Traffic flows around the island continuously, so the statues are best seen from a vehicle or from the footpaths at the edge of the circle; do not try to cross the carriageway on foot to reach them.

How to reach Pari Chowk

By metro

The easiest public-transport option is the Noida Metro Aqua Line. Its Pari Chowk station (signboarded as Jaypee Greens Pari Chowk) is an elevated station on the line that runs from Noida Sector 51 to Depot in Greater Noida. The Aqua Line opened on 25 January 2019 and is run by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC).

By road

• From Noida and Delhi: Drive down the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway. You reach Pari Chowk at its southern end.
• From Agra, Mathura or Jewar: Come north on the Yamuna Expressway; Pari Chowk is the first big junction after you leave the expressway at the Greater Noida end.
• From Ghaziabad and Greater Noida West: Use the roads via Surajpur and Kasna, or the Greater Noida West–Surajpur link routes, depending on your starting point.

By bus or auto

Pari Chowk is a major pick-up point for local buses, shared autos and e-rickshaws that run to Knowledge Park, Kasna, Surajpur, Dadri and villages along the Yamuna Expressway. State buses towards the Jewar side have also used the Zero Point/Pari Chowk area as a starting point. Routes and fares change frequently, so confirm locally before relying on a particular bus.

Shopping and entertainment

• India Expo Centre & Mart: The exhibition venue in Knowledge Park II is one metro stop from Pari Chowk. During big trade fairs it draws huge crowds, so arrive by metro if you can.
• City Park and Surajpur Wetland: Green spaces within a short drive; Surajpur Wetland is excellent for birdwatching in winter.
• Buddh International Circuit: The former Formula 1 track lies along the Yamuna Expressway, a short drive south of the roundabout.

Education and healthcare

The Knowledge Park sectors around Pari Chowk contain many universities, engineering colleges and hostels, which is why the metro and buses are crowded with students on weekday mornings. Several private hospitals, including Kailash Hospital and Yatharth, have branches in the wider area, and the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) is at Kasna. In an emergency, dial 112 and ask for the nearest hospital, as traffic conditions can make the closest option the slowest.

Traffic at Pari Chowk: what to expect

Pari Chowk is one of the busiest junctions in Greater Noida. Peak congestion is typically on weekday mornings and evenings, when office traffic, college buses and heavy vehicles all converge. News reports have described commuters losing 20–30 minutes in jams around Pari Chowk and Kasna, and authorities have been building alternative links to ease the load. For example, UPSIDA reported building a 400-metre, three-lane flyover connecting EPIP Kasna and Site-5 Surajpur so that expressway traffic heading to the industrial areas can bypass Pari Chowk (reported in November 2024).

Traffic around the junction is also affected by big events at the India Expo Centre & Mart. For the UP International Trade Show 2026, Gautam Buddh Nagar traffic police announced goods-vehicle restrictions from 24 to 29 September 2026 (7 am to 11 pm daily), with diversions at Pari Chowk: traffic from Pari Chowk towards Noida was to be diverted at Surajpur towards Greater Noida West. Such advisories are issued before most major expos, so check the traffic police’s social media accounts before driving through during a large event.

Tips for using Pari Chowk

• Choose your lane early. The roundabout has several exits close together. Know which exit you need (Yamuna Expressway, Kasna, Surajpur or Knowledge Park) before you enter, and move to the correct side of the carriageway in good time.
• Avoid peak hours if you can. Early mornings on weekends are the smoothest time to drive through. On weekdays, roughly 8.30–10.30 am and 5.30–8 pm tend to be the heaviest.
• Use the metro for Expo Mart events. During big fairs, driving and parking near Pari Chowk and Knowledge Park II becomes slow. The Aqua Line is usually quicker.
• Keep FASTag balance topped up if you are continuing onto the Yamuna Expressway, which is tolled.
• Do not walk across the roundabout. Use marked crossings and the metro station’s foot access; traffic rarely stops here.

Pari Chowk as a place to live or work

The area around Pari Chowk combines good connectivity (metro, two expressways and easy access to the Jewar airport corridor) with relatively planned sectors, wide roads and green belts. It is popular with students and faculty in Knowledge Park, employees of Greater Noida’s industrial areas and families in the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Jaypee Greens areas. The downsides are the peak-hour traffic at the roundabout itself and the distance from central Delhi. If you are comparing localities, weigh commute time to your workplace more heavily than distance on the map.
